Botanical hair spa: what happens in a session

A Mi Momento guide

Guide No. 2

The Japanese water cascade at Mi Momento's Hair Spa

A hair spa — also called a head spa — is to the scalp what a facial is to the skin: deep cleansing, massage and treatment. Ours happens in a private cabin, with botanical cosmetics and a Japanese water cascade — and it is, quite simply, an hour of calm.

What it is (and what it is not)

It is a wellbeing ritual for the scalp: the skin your hair grows from. We work on cleansing, microcirculation and balance with plant-based products, free from harsh sulphates and silicones.

It is not a quick mask before a cut, nor a wash with two minutes of massage. It is a service in its own right, in a private single-person cabin made for switching off: between 45 and 95 minutes depending on the ritual you choose, so you leave with a balanced scalp and a lighter head.

A session, step by step

It starts before your hair gets wet: you choose your essence from several aromas — it accompanies the whole experience — and we look at your scalp up close with the micro-camera, on screen, to decide together what it needs.

In the cabin comes the welcome massage — back, shoulders, neck, arms and head — and then the two shampoo rounds: the first, more energetic, with activated charcoal for a deep cleanse; the second is pure massage. Then a tailored treatment, with a mist of water microparticles so the actives sink in deeper, and a mini facial with natural cosmetics and cool stones while your hair absorbs.

The finale is the moment nobody wants to end: the Japanese water cascade, inspired by Japan's thermal baths and adjusted to the shape of your head. And to land, styling and an infusion — because yes: styling is included in every Hair Spa.

Scalp diagnosis with a micro-camera before the hair spa: the screen shows the fibre magnified

Want to try it on your hair?

What it does for your hair (and for you)

The benefits show first on the skin and then on the hair: the scalp rebalances — less itching, less flaking, less oil —, microcirculation gets going (the foundation of healthy growth) and the hair comes out hydrated and shiny. And there is one benefit no analysis will show: a whole hour without screens or hurry.

What if you have very little hair, or none? Also welcome — we got the question so often that we made a video about it, and it passed 12 million views: the hair spa works on the skin, not the hairstyle. Pregnant? Also yes: we use organic products compatible with pregnancy, and we adapt the position and the aromas.

What about the Japanese head spa?

The trend comes from Japan: the head spa turned hair washing into a full ritual, with a head massage and that water cascade you have seen in a thousand videos. If that is what draws you, you will find the real thing here: our cascade is Japanese, inspired by Japan's thermal baths.

The difference is the rest of the ritual: botanical, organic cosmetics — no harsh sulphates, no silicones — and a micro-camera diagnosis before touching anything, because a beautiful ritual helps little if the treatment is not the one your scalp needs.

What a hair spa does not do

Honesty first: a hair spa does not stop medically caused hair loss, and it does not replace a dermatologist. It helps — a lot — with seasonal shedding, stress and scalp imbalance, but if the diagnosis shows something that needs a different kind of attention, we will tell you.

We offer it as four rituals — Glow, Harmony, Kids and Organic Essence, the full experience — and all of them end with the cascade and an infusion; you will find each one, with its price, on the Hair Spa page. And if you too want to give your scalp (and your head) an hour of calm, we will be waiting for you at Mi Momento.
